Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown Nails

Ingrown toenails often effect the big toes. They are characterized by the sides of the nail growing into the skin. If left untreated, ingrown toenails can be very painful, and in some cases, can lead to infection. A Chiropodist is trained in assessing and treating ingrown nails. Treatment is based on severity and patient need. A Chiropodist may be able to simply trim away the offending nail and offer advice on prevention. However, some cases may require a minor surgical procedure to remove the nail.
